Utthita Hasta Padangustasana A Extended Hand to Big Toe Pose
How to From standing, shift weight into your left foot. Inhale as you lift the right leg up toward you, taking hold of the big toe. Try to keep the right shoulder back and down (it has a tendency to reach out for the foot as well), and try to keep the right hip down - level with the left. Notice your standing leg and try to keep it straight.
Modifications Bend the right leg as much as necessary as you take the big toe. Try to focus more on keeping the back straight and the foundation secure than on straightening the leg. Bending the knee, you may also simply take hold of the knee and balance there.
